Classes and School Group Visits

Classes at Wildlife Safari Park


Family Camps


Come join us as we discover and practice adventurous outdoor skills. Classes are held from 1 - 3 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Children attending must be four years of age and accompanied by an adult. Cost is $13 per person and $10 per person for Wildlife Safari Park members. Pre-registration is required. Call (402) 738-6908 or email scouts@OmahaZoo.com to register.

SEPTEMBER

Wildlife Safari Park Photo Explorers
Friday, September 21 from 1-3 p.m.
Would you like to share your interest in nature and photography with others?  We are looking for wildlife enthusiasts, of all ages and abilities, to help us create a Wildlife Safari Park Photo Explorer group.  Enthusiasts will meet at the Visitor’s Center.  Meeting is free with entry into park.  

Art on the Plains
Sunday, September 23 from 1-3 p.m.
Relax with us and we gaze out over the Great Plains and recreate on paper the beauty that is in front of us.  Local artist will offer tips on creating lovely landscape art.

OCTOBER

Photography for Adults
Saturday, October 14 from 6:30-9 a.m.
Grab your coffee and you camera for early morning photography.  The Wildlife Safari Park will open early for pre-registered photographers that wish to capture the perfect shot during “The Golden Hour." Adults only, 18 years or older please.

Wonders of Winter Camp
Saturday, October 28 from 1-4 p.m.
Ever wonder what happens to the animals at the Wildlife Safari Park in the winter time (off season). We will explore natural winter habits of native Nebraska species and then compare and contrast with the animals at the park. Guests will participate in making animal enrichment to be used by the keepers when the park is closed for the season. This Camp will be an hour longer to accommodate all the activities planned.

Cost is $12 for Wildlife Safari Park Members and $15 for non-members and open to all ages. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Day Camps


Fall into Fall Wildlife Ranger Day Camp
Friday, October 20 from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Become a wildlife ranger and join us on a North American expedition exploring the fall and winter habitats of the animals at Wildlife Safari Park. Learn about what the native Nebraska animals do during the cold months, how wild populations find food, who sleeps too much and who migrates.

Cost is $50 per child for Wildlife Safari Park members and $60 for non-members. Campers will meet at Wildlife Safari Park's Visitor Center. Please bring lunch. This day camp will take place rain or shine. Only offered for children ages 8-12.




School Group Visits


School Group VisitSchool admission rates are given specifically to groups when student admission is being paid for by the school. Reservations are required in advance. One person must pay for the entire group to receive the school discount. One adult per 10 students is required. Memberships are not applicable toward school group admission rates or programs.

Student Workshops

Student workshops are designed to expand your students’ problem solving and critical thinking skills through hands-on activities.

  • Available April 1 through October 31 (weather permitting)
  • Times available are 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
  • Capacity: 40 students per session.  For groups larger than 40, a second session is required.
  • Level: 6th-12th Grade  
  • 3 weeks’ notice required  
  • Fee: $5 per student (minimum fee applicable, does not include school group admission to Wildlife Safari Park)

Amphibian Field Sampling: Provide your students with an   opportunity to engage in real-world science at our Wildlife Safari    Park.  Learn about conservation issues facing amphibians and    collect valuable data, which is used to monitor their health as a    part of our statewide amphibian conservation initiative. Students    will learn how to test water quality, collect samples from    amphibians to be tested for disease, and properly record data. 

Additional educational opportunities are available with your visit. A three-week notice is required.
