Sunrise Photography Workshops at Wildlife Safari Park

Saturday, July 10, 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Join us at Lee G Simmons Conservation and Wildlife Safari Park for this special opportunity as our photographer, Mike Benkis, leads a morning excursion into the Park to take photographs of our resident Elk and discusses the best way to position yourself for taking photos during early morning hours. Class also includes information on Conservation by our Wildlife Safari Park Education staff. Bring your Iced Coffee and enjoy the summer sunrise!

Pre-Registration is required for this event. Fee is $30 for Wildlife Safari Park Members ($35 non-member). This workshop is held outdoors. Appropriate dress is a must.

Who is this workshop for? This workshop is geared towards the experienced photographer who has a better than basic understanding of their equipment. The focus will be on the opportunity to photograph the sunrise and have early access to the Wildlife Safari Park. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to attend solo.

What camera equipment do I bring? Bring your telephoto lens for the best shooting. We never quite know where the Elk will be so best be prepared. Bring extra batteries due to possible hot temps. A monopod or tripod is helpful when using long lenses.

Other optional items to bring:
  • Bathrooms are available and near by.
  • Snacks are welcome.
  • Extra water for those hot steamy summer days.
  • Hats are a good idea to keep the summer sun from causing unwanted sunburns.
  • Suntan Lotion is a good idea too!
  • Bug Spray is never a bad idea.
